ewwwww private servers is right. In a world where Wrath exists, you and 4000 others cannot enjoy it. Welcome to the dark ages of TBC Private Servers where Illidan can be soloed and drop the glaives everytime.
private servers can be fun but its just lame when you can like solo SSC
i was messing around on one once and learned Growth from Gruul and used it like 400 times and bugged out shatt it was funny
ive seen 1 glaive (Main hand) drop on live servers ;o
It kind of depends what private servers you find. I've found ones where it takes about 3 or 4 days to get to 70 at a decent speed. Then there's so many people on there that raids are actually done since they maintain the blizzlike qualities. However, lots of people have the high end gear since drop rates are probably 4x? so sometimes bosses drop everything they have on their loot table.
Lol. What's so hard to understand about a 'private' server? It's a server that is run 'privately' by another group or entity other than the original developer of the game.
In this case, the private servers are not run by blizzard, but by groups of various WoW enthusiasts with programming and developments skills which like the idea of not having to pay 15$ a month and instead would rather try to manage their own community and set the 'rates' i.e chance for items to drop or experience gain rate to whatever they want. Since you're so big on Unreal Tournament, let me translate it into terms you'll understand. When you go to the multiplayer lobby to find a game, you find a list of servers. You can kind of look at as if the public ones you can join without a password are like 'Blizzard's Legitimate WoW servers' and the ones with required passwords to join are the private servers. Of course, the example doesn't fully transfer over because you have to include subscription costs.
70 = lvl 70. The previous high point before Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) came out. TBC = The Burning Crusade aka the first expansion. Illidan = the last boss in the 'Black Temple' raid which drops the best swords aka the warglaives. I can go on all day. It's not hard to figure out, especially when you take the crash course WoW 101 by way of private servers. Doesn't matter how nerdy the WoW crowd is perceived, it delivers pretty much everything a good mmorpg should. It's like a cheap prostitute without stds. Good price, serves the purpose of entertainment, and isn't a threat to your system. (Warning: addiction and loss of a 'so-called life' may occur)

Ah. It was a joke, but I see.
cashews 34 Days ago
Yeah, I was kidding about the dictionary thing. I imagine there are terms for every game that only players of the game will know.
adamm08 34 Days ago
Yeah, I meant those WoW terms too. lol
